History - Over 130 years of passion and experience
Like every good brand, Jay-Be is more than just a name. With roots dating back to the late nineteenth century and five generations of family businesses; the knowledge and experience within Jay-Be has enabled the company to become one of the most reputable names for the design and manufacturing of beds and upholstery in the UK today.
Based in the Heart of Yorkshire, the family began life trading in textiles and went on to supplying numerous products including flock and felt for the bedding trade. Developing further, the original business progressed into manufacturing spring interior mattresses and by the middle of the century it had become one of the largest textile companies in the World.
However, it was in the 1960’s when designing and manufacturing furniture really developed. Since then, products have evolved and markets have changed but one thing will always be at the heart of Jay-Be; a passion for innovating, designing and manufacturing in the UK.

Over the years we have been proud winners of many awards and accreditations, we are accredited as a BS EN ISO 9001:2000 compliant firm and we have also been the UK bed industry’s representative for the British Design Council since 2002 to the present day. We have also won the following awards:
